Dear String Project family,

The fall semester is off and running! This Saturday, classes will begin at 9:00; the Saturday schedule is attached. You will see something called “T&R” happening at 9:00- this class is only for students that are enrolled in an orchestra (EO, IO, AO, and CO). Early Childhood Class, Stepping Stones, Junior Cadets, and Beginning Parent Guitar Ensemble will also begin this Saturday. All other ensembles will meet at 10:00. Further, if you were not able to pick up your Convocation folder last week, they will be at the main table on the ground floor of the music building.

It is very likely that your student’s classes are meeting in different locations from last week. Check the schedule posted on the walls, and as always, confirm when you arrive Saturday that there haven’t been last minute changes. If you were not able to attend Convocation this week, please make sure to turn in an absence form at the main table. You can also find this form on our website http://stringproject.music.utexas.edu/ under “forms and documents”.

This week there is no home football game, so if you have purchased an N/N+ permit you should be able to park on campus. Please pay attention to the signs on campus to be 100% sure you are legally parked. If you have not received the e-mail for parking, respond to this e-mail so that I can forward you the parking e-mail as the method to obtain a parking permit has changed this year.

This Saturday, the UT Wind Ensemble is having a recording session, so there will be no classes in Bates Recital Hall or room 2.604. As this is a recording session, please be mindful to keep the noise level to a minimum, especially near the entrances to Bates, whether on the 2nd floor or the 3rd floor. If you see a child becoming disruptive or noisy, we appreciate your help in quieting them down.

I hope everybody has a great rest of the week! As always, let me know if you have any questions or concerns. See you Saturday!

Best,

Matthew Chan
Assistant Director
