The Alternative Styles Festival is a two-day event hosted by the University of Texas String Project at the Butler School of Music at the University of Texas at Austin.
Who can participate: The Festival is open to all students, teachers, and others who play a string instrument and wish to participate. Even observers are welcome. String Project students are already, automatically registered for the Festival; parents, siblings, and outside participants are invited to register by completing and submitting a registration form together with your check to the address listed on the form.
Registration Includes: Participation in Saturday workshops, concert, and festival lunch. Tickets for the Friday night faculty concert and Alternative Styles T-shirts may also be ordered on the registration form.
I am already in String Project. What do I need to do? Just come to the Festival. We have already registered you, including the T-Shirt.
What group am I in for the Festival? For the Alternative Styles Festival, classes in the UT String Project will be combining in four larger groups. Outside students will join the group appropriate to their level.

Students play comfortably with vibrato and in 3rd position and beyond. They have several years of orchestral experience at a minimum. |
