Promotional Guidelines To promote you must play with good posture. Check your posture against this list (Download Word File): This is what you need to know to promote: WHAT ARE JURIES???? String Project juries are an opportunity for students to perform the material they have been working on all semester for a panel of SP teachers. A student will play either a regular or a promotional jury. A promotional jury assesses the playing level of a student with the intended purpose of changing to a different level of Saturday class. In all juries, the student will perform a piece and a scale, pre-chosen by the teacher and student in the private lessons. In a promotional jury, the student should additionally prepare all the requirements for the next ensemble/orchestra level. (These guidelines were included in your Convocation packet). Juries are a time for every student to gain valuable performance experience. If you feel that, based on the Orchestral and Ensemble Promotional Guidelines handed out at Convocation, your child is ready for the next ensemble or orchestra level, please talk to your private lesson teacher. Please note that your private lesson teacher is the ONLY one that may recommend your child for a promotional jury.
*PROMOTIONAL NOTE: In order to sign up for a promotional jury, you must have discussed this with and have the approval of your child’s private teacher.
All students wishing to promote must submit, to the SP Office, promotional guidelines (including the position checklist) signed by the private teacher.
